Teamwork

Our Cause; Our Movement

Our team isn’t just committed to entrepreneurial development, but to entrepreneurial development in service of sustainable, generational wealth. We work to not just support Black women entrepreneurs, but provide support and tools that intentionally help Black women entrepreneurs progress through phases of growth from solopreneurship to boutique agency and beyond. Our focus is on the friends and family stage of access to capital and our target market is Black women who are bootstrapping - but desire to access capital for growth. We are focused on helping women achieve profit, growth/scale and sellability. We hire Black women coaches, Black women vendors and service providers and recycle the dollar within our network.

History and Founder

Sistahbiz launched its nonprofit activities in 2018 as a way to offer free coaching and training and technical assistance to under-resourced Black women in business. Sistahbiz has ushered hundreds of women through its annual 9-month business cohort, its quarterly business bootcamps and its annual 3-day business retreat.

The organization then launched a for-profit entity to sell subscription membership services in 2020. On a monthly basis, hundreds of members gather to participate in masterclasses, therapy circles for entrepreneurs, work groups, wine downs and more. Sistahbiz partners with city agencies, foundations and lending institutions to increase access to capital and resources for Black women entrepreneurs.

Makisha Boothe, Founder and Head Business Coach of Sistahbiz Global Network, founded Sistahbiz in 2018 after having several women seek out her coaching and support as they grew their businesses.
